Hail Damage
Hail damage is caused by various sized chunks of ice (Hail) falling from the sky onto your vehicle and can vary in severity; light, moderate, heavy, and extreme
- Light Damage sometimes goes unnoticed and includes less than 30 dents on each panel and nickel or smaller sized dents and can be repaired solely by PDR
- Moderate Damage is defined with 31 - 100 dents per panel, with quarter-sized or smaller dents, and can be repaired solely by PDR
- Heavy Damage includes 101 - 200 dents per panel, has quarter-sized dents and larger may have broken or cracked paint inside the dents, and possibly need body shop repairs as well as PDR
- Extreme Damage will be a combination of 201 or more dents per panel, half-dollar sized or bigger dents, cracked, broken paint, and will include body shop repairs.

Creases and Wrinkles
Creases are dents that are longer than they are wide. They can also be shallow and sharp.
They are measured in inches and can be very difficult to remove. They are usually caused by an object impacting and then sliding along the exterior of the vehicle.
Wrinkles can result from an impact in a bumper or door edge that has created an excess of metal, creating multiple bulges or wrinkles.
PDR uses various methods for eliminating creases and wrinkles. These methods can include pushing, glue pulling, and heat repair.
In order to determine which technique would best fit your situation, contact Coty or Allan at Hansford's and they will guide you through the best decisions

Dents and Dings
Like hail damage dents, as they are both a result of an impact on your vehicle's exterior, they are caused by various items and materials.
-
Impacts with soft items create shallow dents
-
Impacts with hard items create sharp dents
The location of the impact is just as important as the size of the dent. A small seemingly easy dent can be in an inaccessible location, which can lower the chances of a successful repair.
-
Body lines are commonly dented because they stick out further than the panel. While body lines look nice and give the panel extra rigidity, they can be very difficult to repair and often have cracked paint.
-
Flat areas can usually be repaired easily as long as the dent is not too stretched. Unlike a dent with a body line, the flat panel is not rigid and can be floppy. The dent may not lay completely flat again.
-
Double paneled areas like fenders and door edges, can be repaired but in some cases can not be accessed and will need somebody shop repair.
-
Inaccessible areas like roof rails can be fixed using an alternative method such as glue pulling.
